Driver killed in rollover crash on San Jose freeway

SAN JOSE – A driver died in a rollover collision over the weekend in San Jose, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday on Highway 101 south of Brokaw Road.

In a statement, the CHP said a 2020 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound when it veered to the right, hit a 2023 Tesla Model Y and “continued out of control in a northeasterly direction.”

The Toyota then collided with a wooden traffic sign pole and a metal light pole before crossing the North First Street onramp and traveling down an embankment, the CHP said, adding that the car rolled over before coming to
