This Might Be the Most Massive Black Hole Ever Discovered

Astronomers have identified what could be a new supermassive black hole, and with an estimated mass 36 billion times that of the sun, it has about 10,000 times the mass of the black hole at the center of the Milky Way. This would make it among the most massive objects ever detected.

The finding, published in the Monthly Notice of the Royal Astronomical Society, was made by researchers from the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation at the University of Portsmouth in the UK in collaboration with the Federal University of Rio Grande in Brazil.
