Palo Alto bans concealed weapons in schools, polling places, government buildings

Following the lead of other Bay Area cities, Palo Alto is tightening its gun restrictions, banning concealed weapons in government buildings, schools and polling places.

The city council’s decision this week comes nearly nine months after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down New York’s law limiting guns in public — a landmark ruling that means California’s “good cause” requirement for concealed carry will no longer hold up in court.
