Caltrans said Sunday night that Highway 37 that was closed Saturday in both directions near Atherton Avenue – including the U.S. 101 connector ramps to SR-37 in Novato – due to storm related flooding, will likely remain closed into Monday.
The full highway closure went into effect just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday and will remain in effect until Caltrans and CHP deem the highway safe for motorists to travel.
Caltrans crews spent Sunday cleaning up and pumped standing water off SR-37, as well as taking preventative measures as overnight rain and high tides are expected to bring more severe flooding.
