This company has created a recipe for carbon-zero cement

Producing cement is a major source of carbon emissions — 8% of the global total. A company in Massachusetts has altered the recipe, finding a way to produce carbon-zero cement instead.

Roughly 8% of the world’s total carbon emissions come from making one thing – cement. Cement is a key ingredient in the 30 billion tons of concrete that the world uses each year. And because of all that global demand, startups are trying to figure out different ways to make cement to reduce its carbon footprint. Emily Pontecorvo wrote about it for the climate news site
