SUNNYVALE –This was uncharted territory for both teams.

The King’s Academy built a 10-point lead after three quarters and managed to hold off a high-energy rally by Ygnacio Valley to post a 64-61 victory Tuesday in the opening round of the Northern California Division III regional playoffs.

It was the first NorCal appearance for both programs

“We have never been this far,” said TKA’s Tylek Barnett, who led all scorers with 27 points. “To win this game shows we have a new culture here and we’ll really be able to do anything.”
