Sunnyvale school board trustee Roy Rocklin dies

(Photograph by Bill Gerth) Lynbrook High School teacher Roy Rocklin speaks during a campus event in 2014. Rocklin, who was elected to the Fremont Union High School District board in 2016, died on March 19. His fellow board members are set to appoint a replacement by May 8 to finish out his term.

The Fremont Union High School District is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on its five-member board of trustees. The vacancy was created by the death of trustee Roy Rocklin.

Rocklin, a Sunnyvale resident, died on Sunday, March 19, from Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a rare and virulent form of skin
