SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Top officials at Oregon’s liquor commission had sought-after bourbons diverted for their personal use — including the Pappy Van Winkle offerings that most Oregonians can get only if they win a lottery, an internal investigation found.
Commission Executive Director Steve Marks and the other implicated officials now stand to lose their jobs. Gov. Tina Kotek on Wednesday asked the agency’s board of commissioners to remove them, alleging they “abused their position for personal gain.”
