Santa Clara woman arrested on suspicion of bringing drugs into Redwood City jail

REDWOOD CITY – Authorities on Tuesday arrested a 23-year-old Santa Clara woman on suspicion of bringing more than half a pound of methamphetamine into a Peninsula jail.

The incident was reported around 7 p.m. at the Maguire Correctional Facility at 300 Bradford St. in Redwood City, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman went to the jail to visit an inmate and walked past several signs warning visitors it is a crime to bring drugs into a jail, Lt. William Fogarty said in a news release.
