San Jose: Victim dies after Tuesday shooting

SAN JOSE — A person shot Tuesday afternoon has since died, marking the city’s fourth homicide of the year, police said.

The shooting was reported at 4:30 p.m. from Rancho Drive, between Monterey Highway and Seven Trees Boulevard. According to San Jose police, responding officers found a seriously injured person who was rushed to a hospital.

Police stated Wednesday morning that the victim died overnight. Additional details, including a motive or any identified suspect, were not immediately released; police said more information would be released later Wednesday.

At the same point in 2022, San Jose police had investigated one homicide for the year.
