San Jose: Driver arrested in hit-and-run crash that killed pedestrian

SAN JOSE — A driver has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in North San Jose last week, police said.

The fatal collision was reported at 5:39 a.m. Friday on Morrill Avenue near Knights Bridge Road, just north of Hostetter Road, according to San Jose police.

Responding police officers found a gravely injured woman at the site and rushed her to a local hospital, where she died a short time later, police said. Her name has not been publicly released pending her formal identification and notification of her next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
