Preliminary 3.4 Magnitude Quake Strikes Near Hollister

A preliminary 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck near the city of Hollister, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 8:38 p.m. and was centered 6.9 mi south, southwest of Tres Pinos and 11.4 mi south, southeast of Hollister, the USGS said.

No other information was immediately available.
