Person dies after being gravely injured along Highway 17 in Campbell

A person died Saturday afternoon after being gravely injured along Highway 17 in Campbell, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at about 2:10 p.m. on Highway 17 at the Hamilton Avenue overpass, according to Ross Lee, a California Highway Patrol spokesman. The person died after being taken to a hospital, and authorities are investigating the death as a suicide.

The incident caused the left two lanes of Highway 17 to be blocked for more than an hour Saturday afternoon.
