Pedestrian killed in crash on Highway 87 in San Jose

A pedestrian died early Sunday morning after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 87 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The person was hit at about 4:50 a.m. Sunday by a vehicle going south on Highway 87, just south of Curtner Avenue, said Alicia Moreno, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

The person’s name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation. Details about any possible injuries suffered by the driver were not immediately clear, though the motorist was cooperative with investigators.
