New temple isn’t right
for SJ neighborhood

Re: “Buddhists in San Jose push for larger temple” (Page A1, Feb. 27).

Let me present another view of this project. The proposed temple will replace six lots designated for single family homes. In its place will be a compound of several buildings.

Features will include:

• A capacity of over 300 people.

• 66 parking spaces (fewer spaces than required by city code).

• Structures higher than the two-story homes around it.

• Outdoor sound amplification.

• An unlimited number of events that may serve alcohol.
