Re: “Empty storefronts go far beyond downtowns” (Page A1, April 1).

Prime real estate is deteriorating as prices for rent increase. We see this problem all through the Bay Area. These abandoned lots and buildings now serve as homeless camps, turning customers away from nearby businesses.
