If the war’s over, when does everything go back to normal?

In an extremely promising development for the war in the Middle East and the global economy, Iran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

For now, anyway.

If the war is actually ending, the logical question from anyone who has filled a gas tank over the past month is: When will prices return to where they were before the war?

Not anytime soon. Almost certainly not this year. Maybe never.

A lot would need to happen first, and achieving lasting peace with a country the United States and Israel spent weeks bombarding is just the start.
