Cupertino: Bicyclist killed in traffic collision

CUPERTINO – A driver hit and killed a bicyclist Tuesday morning in Cupertino, authorities said.

The traffic collision was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 10000 block of North Tantau Avenue, near Vallco Parkway, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Santa Clara County Fire Department personnel pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office described the bicyclist only as a 69-year-old man. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release his identity once it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
