Scattered showers fell Tuesday throughout the Bay Area as the National Weather Service anticipated a drop to near-freezing temperatures in some places overnight leading into Wednesday.
The region woke up Tuesday morning to light rains overhead; the showers weren’t expected to stop until early Wednesday morning.
NWS forecasts showed rainfall between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch expected in lower-elevation areas like San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco in the form of scattered showers, meaning the rain could fade in and out throughout the day.
