1 arrested, 1 injured in suspected road rage shooting near Westfield Valley Fair

A suspected road rage shooting near Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose is under investigation.

Police said a suspect is in custody and a victim was taken to a hospital following a shooting reported just after 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim may have been involved in a road rage incident that resulted in the subsequent shooting,” San Jose police said in a statement.

Police said a gun was located at the scene and an investigation is ongoing.

Westfield Valley Fair provided the following statement late Tuesday:

“Westfield Valley Fair is aware of an incident that occurred this afternoon near the Bank of America and the ongoing police activity that is taking place on the property. Westfield Valley Fair is actively cooperating with local law enforcement as the investigation continues. Currently, there is no impact on Westfield Valley Fair’s operations, and all store tenants are recommended to continue business as usual. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.”

No other information was immediately available.
