— Did not win the Pac-12 Tournament.
— Did not reach the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the first time since 2007.
The honest answer? No.
Not given Stanford’s pedigree, its recent success (the 2021 national title and consecutive Final Four appearances) and its expectations with returning All-Americas Haley Jones and Cameron Brink.
But expecting Stanford to always carry the bulk of the Pac-12 weight nationally isn’t fair. Nor is it what the conference expects given that it has produced nine Final Four appearances by six different schools since 2013.
