Man arrested on suspicion of attacking SamTrans bus drivers, carjacking

PALO ALTO — A 26-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon in Palo Alto on suspicion of spitting in the face of one bus driver and wrapping his arms around another before running from officers and trying to carjack a woman, police said.

Officers were called to Quarry and Arboretum roads just before 5 p.m. for a report of a disturbance on a SamTrans bus, the Palo Alto Police Department said in a statement. They arrived to see a man running into a retirement community at 620 Sand Hill Road.
