600-plus additional layoffs hit Bay Area including Waymo, Clif Bar and Johnson & Johnson units

Tech and life science companies, along with a health food firm, are among the employers that have decided to embark on layoffs that will erase hundreds more jobs in the Bay Area, new official state filings show.

Well over 600 jobs are being affected as a result of fresh layoff notices that were filed with the state Employment Development Department (EDD).
