SAN JOSE – A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office deputy, according to authorities.
The incident unfolded around 8 a.m. Saturday, when a deputy stopped a driver near Parkmoor and Rutland avenues in San Jose, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. The driver, later identified as Emmanuel Diaz Ramos, reportedly ran from the deputy.
After a short foot chase, Ramos brandished a gun and told the deputy “I’m going to shoot you,” according to authorities. The men struggled over the firearm, and the deputy ultimately gained control of it. Ramos then ran back to his car
