Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Trinity Chu, California basketball

California basketball player Trinity Chu is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Jan. 9-14 after she had received 29.31% of the vote at the 5 p.m. deadline Thursday.

Aragon soccer player Quinn Shirley (25.36%) finished second and Westmont soccer player Kiarra D’Arcangelo (23.90%) was third.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Chu, a sophomore guard, scored 22 points in California’s 60-32 league win over Amador Valley. Chu made 8 of 11 shots and contributed four steals on the defensive side too.
