Southwest flight cancellations meltdown to end Friday, airline says

After days of canceling thousands of flights and upending holiday gatherings from coast to coast, Southwest Airlines said it will return to normal operations with “minimal disruptions” starting on Friday, just in time for New Year’s celebrations.

“We are encouraged by the progress we’ve made to realign crew, their schedules, and our fleet,” the airline said in a statement. “With another holiday weekend full of important connections for our valued customers and employees, we are eager to return to a state of normalcy.”
