San Jose: Three stabbed in two separate incidents early Saturday morning

Two separate stabbings occurred in downtown San Jose in the early hours of Saturday morning, authorities said.

The two incidents, which the San Jose Police Department said are believed to be unrelated, happened between 1:40 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. and “started as fights as bars and nightclubs were closing in the downtown entertainment zone,” police said in a statement.

The first incident occurred at Santa Clara and 3rd streets. One man was stabbed by a suspect who fled, but was eventually arrested and booked into jail.

The second incident occurred near Santa Clara and Market streets when two men were stabbed by two people who fled on foot. Police
