San Jose: Small plane crash lands at Reid-Hillview airport

SAN JOSE — A small plane landed hard on an airport runway Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The plane, a single-engine Consolidated Vultee BT-13A with a tail number of N59842, was flying near Reid-Hillview Airport when it began coming down shortly before 3:30 p.m.

There were no initial reports of injuries, and a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman was working to gather more information. A San Jose Fire Department public information officer did not immediately return a call about a firefighter response to the incident.
