Man injured in downtown San Jose shooting

SAN JOSE — Police are looking for the suspect in a non-fatal shooting Saturday morning that left a man injured.

Officers responded around 10:33 a.m. to Ruff Drive near the Guadalupe Trail in the heart of downtown, a stone’s throw from San Jose police headquarters and the city’s airport.

The suspect is described by police as an adult homeless man who fled into the area of the nearby Guadalupe River creek after firing what medics determined was likely a pellet gun.

The victim, an adult male, suffered injuries in the shooting that are not life-threatening, authorities said.
