3.6 magnitude earthquake shakes South Bay

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 was recorded Saturday morning near Corralitos, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, at 9:59 a.m., was along Green Valley Road about a mile west of Hazel Dell Road — close to the San Andreas Fault. A preliminary estimate of 3.9 was revised by the USGS.

Reports to the USGS indicated the quake was felt from Marin County to Monterey, including along the Peninsula and across the South Bay.
