San Jose: Crashes kill 2 people, both standing outside on highways

SAN JOSE — Two people died in two separate traffic crashes over the weekend in San Jose, according to California Highway Patrol.

A collision was reported at 10:41 p.m. Sunday on Highway 237 and Great America Parkway, CHP Officer Ross Lee said. CPR was being performed on one person by an off-duty paramedic when officers arrived and paramedics tried to continue CPR at the scene but the person was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m.
