It’s also a reason the fitness category of the health and wellness franchising industry continues to prosper. The overall market snapshot includes several statistics that paint a healthy picture of the industry: It’s estimated that over 60 million Americans own fitness memberships, accounting for six billion visits a year. There are more than 40,000 health clubs in the U.S., driving industry revenue north of $65 billion a year, which amounts to a growth rate of 8.4%.
